Shiu Yakiniku + Jurong Bird Park

This is another one of our coupon escapades a week before visiting BKK. It is a japanese smoke-free bbq restaurant located just right opposite the Jurong Bird Park and coincidentally enough, on the same street just a little further down from where I live. Convenient ain't it? (:

Since we were using a coupon, they had a different menu available for us to choose from. I'm sure alot of items on the original menu was struck off. We had pork belly and chicken meat to choose from. Both of us don't take beef so we chose to have them switched to prawns instead. They only give one serving of beef/prawns to 1pax each. The rest of the meat items and sides are free-flow. There was quite a good variety of food although not alot of vege options available so we got a little full on meat later very quickly.

They also had condiments for you to mix your own chilli sauce. There was a mixture of dark sauce and some korean and jap sauces. I was being very lazy so I decided to steal the sauce that Jesse had mixed for himself. Amongst the sides were chawanmushi, baby octopus, kimchi and many more.

Overall, it was a good meal and I don't mind going back there to try it's original menu which is definitely more expensive. We went during lunch and paid $19.90 each. I realised after our meal that the original price for a lunch was $19.90++ Hence, we didn't actually save much I guess unless the ++ was of a significant difference.

Didn't realise how wavy and curly my hair was until this picture came along..

What better place to digest our food than to take a short stroll across the car park to Jurong Bird Park?
The last time I was here was a really long time ago. I saw from facebook a few days ago that there was a 30% off in visiting the Singapore Zoological Gardens. Maybe there will be a package deal?

猪朋狗友

My mom is born in the year of the pig and my dad in the year of the dog. Together they make a good pairing of 猪朋狗友, which means bad friends. Inside joke.

I am a rabbit! A little parrot.

And other little parrots. These parrots are so cheeky and I have photo evidence on that.

"You are in my territory. Move away!"

"Shoo! Take that! Fart in your face!"

Such pretty feathers they have.

We took the 230pm City Attractions Bus meant for tourist in a bid to get to Chinatown, which was not in the list of places to go, but the driver said OK. It literally brought anyone to anywhere they wanted to go to, like stopping in the middle of nowhere in Little India that sort of thing. For $4.50 each, this is seriously better than grabbing a cab. We were joking with the uncle if he would send people to Changi Airport and he said 'Ok if he had the time'. Wth!

We went to Chinatown to change money for our BKK trip as the rates there were pretty good. There was this particular money changer that everyone goes to and there was already a moderate queue when we got there around 4pm on a random Monday afternoon. The rates for Thai Baht was 24.49 which was really good.

Old uncles living the time of their life. He even modified the plastic chair to make it shorter and placed a cushion on it. Comfy to the max.
