Paradise Inn

This was where we went to after grabbing a small bite at Charlie Brown Cafe.

It is located at the basement of 313@Somerset and they were offering set lunches, so why not give it a try? Their set lunches were pretty affordable as well at only $9.80 per set. Each set comes with a traditional double boiled soup of the day and a glass of barley. I LOVE double boiled soups!

This was the sauteed seafood with spicy sauce that J ordered. It was not bad, but I liked mine better!

Yummo! I got the sweet and sour pork with lychee. I know hyping about sweet and sour pork is no big deal because you can get that just about anywhere but these were really good. The meat was sweet and soft! Not those kind that you eat and you can hear a crunch sound because the batter is so thick on the outside. I know meats don't melt but this literally melted in my mouth.

The soup of the day was double boiled spare ribs with watercress and almond. In the menu, they have also stated what the functions of each and every particular type of soup does. This was apparently to soothe our throats, remove the 'heat' from our bodies and clear our phlegm if any.

It was very worth it as the soup came along with the set meal that cost only $9.80. Usually, it is $14.90 per pot and one pot serves around 2-4 people. There are other soups such as 'double boiled pig stomach with spare ribs and white pepper', supposedly to prevent and expel colds, strenghthen stomach functionalities and has slimming effects. All soup bases are brewed using pork bones. This is the same restaurant group that we went to for la mian the other time and I was totally raving about their soup because the broth was so flavourful.

It was lunch time but there weren't too many people around. Mostly office staff dining at the restaurant. The interior was very traditional with the hanging lantern lights and red curtains. Great for bringing your parents / grandparents for a meal.
