Mint Museum of Toys

Guess many won't be unfamiliar with the Mint Museum of Toys since they've been around for a while now. I've always wanted to take a visit inside but I guess there wasn't a huge URGE or DESIRE to although I was still curious as to what was inside.

They sell very old-school toys at the front counter and you don't have to pay to visit that area so if you're looking to buy your old-school toy to revive your childhood, here's the place to go! By the way, Mint Museum of Toys is located very conveniently opposite Bras Basah complex which is about a 5min walk from CityHall MRT.

I loveeeed these Hamburger toys when I was young! They were like puzzle pieces and you piece them up so that they form up into a cute hamburger. <3

The museum has about 4 storeys and you take the lift up to the 4th floor and make your way down each level to view the toys on every level. Most of the toys displayed seemed to be more of collectibles and things that you definitely can't find on the market anymore.

If you're looking to view old school kampong games like marbles, kuti-kuti and all that good stuff, there is unfortunately only a small section of it on one of the levels. Most of the other toys displayed are toy tv characters.

Popeye the Sailor Man!

I love Popeyes when I was a kid and would watch every single episode of it on the the TV. lol. Believe the reason for that was due to their extremely catchy song.

Tin Tin!

Not a huge fan of Tin Tin when I was young until I was introduced to it much later into my childhood. I didn't even had time to catch the movie! ): Heard the movie was pretty good

In front of the Popeye showcase

BATMAN!

I must say that I'm quite the boy-ish sort when I was young. I hated Barbie dolls LOL. Got very irritated whenever I open a present and it's a barbie doll but thank god I didn't had many. I used to like playing with cars where we had this makeshift carpark and we'll wheel the cars everywhere, pretending that they're real. I loved Lego as well. You can get extremely creative with Lego.

So for TV shows, it's no wonder I like shows like Batman, Captain Planet and Power Rangers LOL.

The backdated Mickey Mouse and Betty Boop.

There were alot of string dispensers being displayed so I guess string was very important to people last time? haha

How our Darlie toothpaste came about! They were used to be called Darkie haha

Disney posters!

And Disney lunchboxes too <3
They had one entire shelf of these along the staircase

Wow pocket watches that cost THAT much!

It was quite a pleasant visit there and we got tickets at half price so YAY to that. Most of the toys are small collectibles and they're mainly housed in glass shelves so you can't exactly interact with them I guess. If you're looking to view a wide variety of toys, there honestly isn't very many. Most of it are toys that we're more familiar with as cartoon characters (:

Admission charges for adults are at $15 each if you're wondering.
